Meet our new fish Poseidon.

We bought him last Monday night for our FHE activity.
(Truth is, the fish pictured above is the first fish we bought. He died the next day. Now we have a Poseidon II. Good thing Petsmart has a 14 day return policy on fish.)

Aaron REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wants a dog. Like really. Every time we tell someone that we live in a cozy two bedroom house with a fence, they always say, "Sounds like you need a dog." Aaron ALWAYS looks over at me with this huge smile on his face and he swears he didn't set the person up to say that.

I started my new job yesterday and it's going really well!!
I'm working on a marketing team for a law firm in D.C.
Here's a pic of my new office:

Thanks to a recruiter, I was able to find a job rather quickly.
My favorite part?
It's pretty likely that I'll be sent to Chicago for three days of training.
Wouldn't that just be so fun?!

Happy Monday Morning to you!

Aaron's alarm went off at 3:30 a.m. today.
The morning shift officially started for him at 4:30 this morning.
I've been up since then. ;)
(Kidding! I did wake up to see him off, but then I crawled back into bed for a few hours.)

Meet our new friend Linda!
She was baptized a few weeks ago and we love her.
Last night, I went up to the temple visitors' center to watch Linda participate in the "Why I believe..." fireside.  She shared her conversion story and expressed her excitement to be a new member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I told the Elders that being a missionary definitely has hard times filled with discouragement and feelings of rejection.
 And then,
you hear someone express their happiness of being a baptized member of Christ's church and all those feelings of discouragement a missionary feels quickly vanish away.

In other news, check out my new skirt. (5 bucks on the sale rack at Wal-mart. Why do I always feel like I have to tell everyone where I purchase my clothes? Maybe it's because I love the feeling of finding a great deal! It's true that I love shopping - but I love, even more, finding ways to dress afforably cute!!)

My poor Aaron has been feeling under the weather for the past week. From migraines to kankor sores to a stiff neck to sines infections, he's had a tough week. How grateful we are for modern medicine. Thankfully, the last couple of days he's been feeling more like himself!

My goal this week is to print out some of our wedding pictures. I realized that I haven't even shown you my favorite one!!

It was a perfectly perfect day.

Well, I'm off to Zumba. Have a lovely week!

Baltimore + Family Time.

It's always great when family visits.
Always!
As an Air Force family, we will most likely be traveling around the world.
You're always invited to stay with us.
Always!

Clinton and Mary, my cousins from Cali, came to the east coast this past weekend for a wedding. We met up with them Saturday afternoon and headed up to Baltimore.

Even though it rained off and on for a majority of the evening, we still enjoyed eating at Five Guys, walking along the harbor and of course, enjoying a summery treat at Rita's.

On Sunday, Clinton and Mary attended church with us and then we headed to Virginia for pizza and game night with more cousins.

Have I mentioned before that I have like 52 cousins just on my mom's side?
True fact.

8.10.12

My sweet grandma turned 100 yesterday. Oh how we miss her and papa.

In memory of my grandma's birthday, all my extended family celebrated by attending the temple yesterday (or sometime in the month of August).

I'm sure grateful for the many wonderful lessons grandma taught my mom that my mom has now passed on to me.

Maryland Life.

I've snapped some pics during the last week that I wanted to share with Y-O-U.

Aaron and I each read The Help, and we couldn't put it down.
I know.
My sisters, mom and several friends told me to read the book before watching the movie. Even though we had already seen the movie, the book was so much better. Isn't that usually the case with books? If you haven't read it, READ IT!

Homemade pedi.
Can you tell?!

Some of our friends just had their fourth baby last week and she's adorable. We stopped by the hospital to meet the cute little one. Aaron and I spent last weekend with the three older kids. Everyone at church was happy to see us in parent training mode. We did learn some valuable lessons in raising children. In fact, Aaron planned our FHE activity last Monday and we wrote letters to our future selves as parents and included everything we learned with three kids in three days.

This is an action shot of Aaron getting his hair cut before starting back to work. (Both Aaron and his dad love Yum, their barber, and she loves them.) Turns out we were given 10 bonus days to get our house organized and put together so Aaron didn't officially start working until last Friday!!

Since we had more time to work on our home, we decided to fix up this dresser that we found on Craigslist.

Before...

With a little bit of spray paint and new handles, the dress looks like this!

Do you see that mirror to the left of the dresser? When we picked up the dresser, the seller threw in the mirror for free and we painted it to match.

I promise to post more pics of our home soon. Or better yet, just come visit and see everything in person. :)
