A big week

Eli started riding his bike WITHOUT training wheels!!! We knew he could do it. He was hesitant for us to take off the training wheels, but Aaron removed them, and Eli hopped right on and biked away!

Eli finished up the Preschool Box. It's been the best home-preschool curriculum. The final box had this cap and diploma! :) Austin also helped with the box and we plan to work on it again next year for just Austin.

I've been wanting to get to the temple for an endowment session and as I prayed about it, I had a thought come to my mind to "go early." Turns out the Denver temple has a 5:30 a.m. session on the first and third Wednesday of the month. So I left the house at 4:35 a.m. and made it. It was extremely early, but so worth it. I loved being there and seeing the temple in the bright morning sunshine! I've been so emotional about Eli starting school and being in the temple reminded me that we're here on earth to learn and grow. And I picked up donuts on the way home to celebrate the first day of school!!

Eli was sooo excited for his first day of school in Mrs. Winter's class! Parents were invited to attend the first day and Eli couldn't wait to take Aaron with him.

Aaron texted me these pictures and I loved them so much!

Austin broke down in tears when Eli left. :( It broke my heart so much. They're best friends and Austin misses him when he's at school. We had a good cry together.

We had preschool together in his new preschool book! He's a pro!

Eli came home with this and told me all about school. He said when I miss him to look at this kissing hand. So sweet!

On the second day of school, I planned to take Eli into his classroom, but when I got to the school, there were so many parents waiting at the office to get in, and I could tell Eli was starting to get nervous so I just pushed him in the door and told him to walk in the school and the teachers in the hallway would help him to his room. I held back the tears because I didn't want him to get emotional because of me. I've been in tears watching him grow up suddenly. I love hearing about his school day and I love watching him gain confidence in learning.

One day after dropping off Eli, I told Austin we could go to the park. When we got to the park, it was completely torn down with the sign that said it was closed. We were shocked and confused. Luckily there was an ice cream store close. Ice cream always makes us feel better. :) It was so sweet - Austin asked if he could get Eli an ice cream cone.

We were able to meet up with Aaron later that day and stop by another park for the afternoon before picking up Eli.

Eleanor looooves the swing! I love watching her love it so much!

Eli doesn't have school on Friday and I've been excited about that, but I love it even more than I expected. We had tickets to the aquarium so we decided to make it a family day!

After the Aquarium, we decided to take a candy tour at Hammonds. Free candy at the end of the tour was the highlight!

Friday evening we had an impromptu bomb fire with our neighbors. We really did plan it a few hours before dinner and it was great!

Why do I always find pictures like this on my phone. hahaha

I'm so grateful this little miss has started taking a bottle! :)

Enjoying summer days

Daddy/Daughter twin faces!

The cadet we've been sponsoring is officially a cadet now. We went to the parade and got to meet all these cadet from THAILAND!!

Lunch at Mitchell Hall. A special memory. Aaron ate lunch here almost every day for 4 years.

We squeezed in a family day at the Nature and Science museum. We haven't all been there with dad so we loved it.

We got to go to the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit and then go to the planetarium to learn about space.

The weather warmed up when we left the museum and we decided to run through the sprinklers.

CAMPING! Can you believe this was our first time camping this summer?! We loved it.

We couldn't have a camp fire because of fire restrictions, but that didn't stop us from having hot dogs and s'mores.

Alex's family (and the Olson's, friends of Alex's) joined us too! We loved it.

Eleanor was a great camper! We all belong outside! We were so happy and can't wait to go back!! I love that Aaron loves camping so much. He seriously does all the prep and work once we get to the camp site and I just smile watching everyone creating memories together.
