February Finds

Austin celebrated the 100th day of school!!

Eleanor and I had a little mommy/daughter date with an ice cream treat.

On Saturday, Henry was baptized! Aaron was asked to give the talk and we were grateful we could watch Henry get baptized!

Cute Adelaide walking up from her nap.

During church on Sunday, Eleanor fell asleep on Aaron's lap for the last bit of sacrament meeting. She's so big, yet so small at the same time.

The kids love holding our baby!
She looked so cute heading off to church in her yellow shirt!

Our city major announced that the number of people that can gather together has been lifted so we were all able to attend Henry's baptism! We're grateful each time more restrictions are lifted and feel like we're getting closer and closer to the end of the pandemic. Aaron did get his two doses of the Covid shot as did my mom, Jenny and Steele. We're grateful for the advances in modern medicine as well answers to pray and fasting for relief from this virus.

Valentine Celebrations

We had another snow day so the boys were home and Austin made cupcakes.
Also, I've been praying to notice the good my kids are doing each day instead of dwelling on what they're doing wrong. It's been a blessing for me to notice the little things - like walking into Eleanor's room and seeing her on her knees praying. Eleanor had scattered the preschool box all over the floor and when she cried about how hard it was for her to clean up, Austin ran over to help her. Eli has been quick to help with Adelaide and talks often about his upcoming baptism.

The YW activity was help at our house on Wednesday night and we made Valentine for the single ladies in our ward. I love that we're able to meet together weekly in person, even if masks are still required.

Aaron is the best dad.
Eleanor and I had a lunch date to Chick-fil-a. I wanted to take her for her birthday and several weeks later, we finally got around to a lunch date. She was thrilled!

I also bought candy hearts and she sorted them, stacked them and then ate them.

Eli and Austin were excited to bring home their Valentine's from school! One friend gave Eli some hand sanitizer - this is what Valentine's look like during a pandemic.

The boys didn't have school on Friday and I was feeling adventurous. We went to a gymnastic park with some friends then drove down to the city to meet Aaron for lunch in the car. It's always a treat when we get to meet up with Aaron during the day. I've wanted to try Crumbl, a Utah based company that sells cookies. One opened up in Overland Park last week so the kids and I drove down to KS to get a few. We loved sharing them and they're as great as everyone claims they are! I'm reading a parenting book about the importance of "being in the moment" and not getting side-tracked with thinking about your to-do list, or planning dinner, etc. It's a weakness of mine to get easily distracted with other things besides focusing on my children. After our adventures together on Friday, I remembered how much I love adventuring with my kids because I'm better at being in the moment. Here's to scheduling more adventures together!

When we got home, we found these cute hearts on our door that made me smile!

My neighbor Kim delivered these balloons and cookies to decorate! And I painted my nails. This little heart was so simple and it made me smile.

Saturday evening my cousins Tylen and Carmen came to visit. They were meeting up with family in Kansas City and asked if they could stay with us. We're grateful we have an extra bedroom to host family!

Valentine's Day breakfast!

We got ready for church and then church was cancelled! It's been extremely cold here and there was a fire alarm issue at our church building so the stake decided to cancel our meetings. We were bummed, but grateful we could partake of the sacrament in our home.

I love him! With my whole heart! My forever Valentine.

The boys didn't have school on President's Day and Aaron had the day off! We stayed home and enjoyed  being together. We're reading a lovely book together and my favorite thing is when the kids come running with our book and ask, "Mom, will you please read to us?" We've been reading for hours.

We've also been doing puzzles and painting!

The weather continues to be freezing - school was virtual today and Aaron's office was closed. We even had our electricity turn off for an hour as the company is trying to conserve electricity. I continue to give thanks in my prayers that Aaron's been around so much during this year. I truly feel like Heavenly Father is blessing us with so much family time as we've been separated for so much during the past 8 years.

Visitors

Mary Beth and Spencer and their kids and dog drove out to our house for a visit! We had a nice long weekend together. Adelaide loved Mary Beth's cuddles!

We squeezed in a date for BBQ. Aaron and I have had a date every week for the past several weeks and I love it. We both do!

Friday night we had pizza and sang karaoke.

Adelaide was there for more cuddles.

We also spent several days working on a 2,000 piece puzzle. It was hard!

Mini photo shoot - Special Agent in Training.

We stopped at Farr West before driving out to Grammy and Grandpa's property.

The black space in this puzzle really was unlike anything I've worked on before. We couldn't have finished this puzzle without everyone's help!

Such an accomplishment of team work! We also talked about how we sometimes had to change our perspective in order to find where a piece went.
