The midwest is the best. Someone in the neighborhood had this sign at their house and encouraged neighbors to stop by for pictures.
Our friends invited us to their house for the Super Bowl. We haven't watched football on Sunday for almost 10 years. I grew up watching football with my family. We don't plan to watch every Super Bowl from now on, but it really was an exciting time here in KC to cheer on the Chiefs. THEY WON!
Poor Eli woke up the next morning and had strep throat. I wondered why he was acting so exhausted at the end of the game. We all got to bed late, but it was worth it.
Our Valentine's Day was simple. We had french toast and the kids loved their chocolates. Eli and I cried that he had to miss school. He loves class parties just like I did when I was in Elementary School. Thankfully, Eli's teacher sent down Eli's valentine's down to Austin's classroom for Austin to bring home. This cheered him up! Aaron showed up with Taco Bell for dinner.
Red Snow Day - since the Chief's won the Super Bowl, there was a celebration parade and school was canceled so fans could go watch the celebration parade. The district considered it a "Red Snow Day." We watched the parade on TV and enjoyed lots of snacks.
Here is our two year old with scissors.
I found more of Eleanor's drawings.
The kids didn't have school on Friday so we went to a gymnastics gym for the morning. The kids were sweaty and worn out.
We went to a Hockey Game and had a blast. We didn't expect the game to be so exciting! We'd love to go another time.
Our Saturday afternoons have been dedicated to watching Eli play basketball. He's improved so much. After the game, Aaron treated us to dinner at Wendy's. We love MO.
POOR ELI had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic and he broke out in a rash all over. I had to take him back to the Dr. and he missed another day of school. He was in tears about it all, but we're grateful he has now recovered and is back at running around and feeling better. Eleanor was the cutest nurse. She made him a little snack tray on a cookie sheet.
Look at my sweet baby. She struggles going to bed sometimes at night so I should probably wake her up earlier each day, but look how peacefully she is sleeping.
Eleanor helped me build this little bench. I love it.
More basketball. The boys played their best game and they finally look like a real basketball team! It was awesome.
I got a new calling and I'm now serving in the primary presidency. I love it so much already. My favorite part has been when my kids run up and give me a hug. I served in primary 7 years ago so it's been a while, but I remember thinking how primary is a happy place to be. I love hearing the children sing and share their testimonies.
