CHIEF'S

The midwest is the best. Someone in the neighborhood had this sign at their house and encouraged neighbors to stop by for pictures.

Our friends invited us to their house for the Super Bowl. We haven't watched football on Sunday for almost 10 years. I grew up watching football with my family. We don't plan to watch every Super Bowl from now on, but it really was an exciting time here in KC to cheer on the Chiefs. THEY WON!

Poor Eli woke up the next morning and had strep throat. I wondered why he was acting so exhausted at the end of the game. We all got to bed late, but it was worth it.

Our Valentine's Day was simple. We had french toast and the kids loved their chocolates. Eli and I cried that he had to miss school. He loves class parties just like I did when I was in Elementary School. Thankfully, Eli's teacher sent down Eli's valentine's down to Austin's classroom for Austin to bring home. This cheered him up! Aaron showed up with Taco Bell for dinner.

Red Snow Day - since the Chief's won the Super Bowl, there was a celebration parade and school was canceled so fans could go watch the celebration parade. The district considered it a "Red Snow Day." We watched the parade on TV and enjoyed lots of snacks.

Here is our two year old with scissors.

I found more of Eleanor's drawings.

The kids didn't have school on Friday so we went to a gymnastics gym for the morning. The kids were sweaty and worn out.

We went to a Hockey Game and had a blast. We didn't expect the game to be so exciting! We'd love to go another time.

Our Saturday afternoons have been dedicated to watching Eli play basketball. He's improved so much. After the game, Aaron treated us to dinner at Wendy's. We love MO.

POOR ELI had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic and he broke out in a rash all over. I had to take him back to the Dr. and he missed another day of school. He was in tears about it all, but we're grateful he has now recovered and is back at running around and feeling better. Eleanor was the cutest nurse. She made him a little snack tray on a cookie sheet.

Look at my sweet baby. She struggles going to bed sometimes at night so I should probably wake her up earlier each day, but look how peacefully she is sleeping.

Eleanor helped me build this little bench. I love it.

More basketball. The boys played their best game and they finally look like a real basketball team! It was awesome.

I got a new calling and I'm now serving in the primary presidency. I love it so much already. My favorite part has been when my kids run up and give me a hug. I served in primary 7 years ago so it's been a while, but I remember thinking how primary is a happy place to be. I love hearing the children sing and share their testimonies.

SNOW DAY!!

I signed Eleanor up for soccer in the spring and this will be the first time for her to play. She's VERY excited about it. She's been watching her brothers play sports for years and while she loves ballet, she asked recently if she could try something else. It will be fun to watch her try something new. We had a little practice one afternoon and she definitely is a hustler.

All the kids were invited to a birthday party at a trampoline park and they had a blast. It was extremely kind of our friends to invite all 4 kids.

We had our first snow day of the season on Thursday! The snow day was a welcomed break as we were exhausted from everything going on. We slept in and then the kids played in the snow.

I even attempted to make cinnamon rooms. They turned out pretty good!

My little helper.

Eleanor has turned into the best little artist.

I was looking at pictures from the boys were little toddlers and it's crazy that now when I go into their rooms, they've suddenly grown up. I love that they still sleep with their blankets.

The girls and I had a lunch date to Olive Garden. It was so fun. Can you believe Eleanor will be in kindergarten next year? I'm so sad.

We picked the boys up from school and ran downtown to see everything decorated for the Chief's playing in the Super Bowl!

The adventure ended with ice cream and a princess sighting. And I lost my ticket for the parking garage so instead of free parking, I had to pay $25. Lesson learned.

Ha. The boys make me laugh when I find these pictures on my phone.
I need to take more Sunday pictures of us after church, but everyone rushed in and changes their clothes. I love her.

Winter Time

It's been extremely cold the past few weeks. I don't mind the cold when there is snow, but it didn't even snow. I am grateful that the sun did pop out a few times.

I always enjoy seeing my toddlers love books so much.

A friend made these donuts. We popped them in the microwave and they tasted just like they came from our favorite donut shop for a fraction of the cost. The kids want me to learn how to make these.

A friend invited us to a trampoline park last minute and the girls loved it.

Last month a friend asked me if we want to do a temple babysitting swap once a month. So far it's worked out great. I love that Aaron and I are able to go to the temple together and we're not having to use our babysitting budget fund for the temple only. It's also nice because the kids get excited to be with their friends and they don't feel like Aaron and I are just leaving to another church meeting. It's improved our temple worship for our family.

Each Saturday we clean and on this particular day, the girls room was a disaster. I feel frustrated at times with how quickly the kids' rooms can get messed up, but then I find little treasures like this picture Eleanor drew of a girl praying. I asked her who it is and she said it's mom.

Aaron's finished up our stair skirts and I love how they look. Someone grabbed my phone and took this picture and I love how Adelaide is peeking out to smile. The kids love being right beside Aaron as he works on projects around the house.

A friend invited us to a 40th birthday party and Adelaide was so happy to hold my friend's baby. She's obsessed with babies, more than any of my other kids were as toddlers. My heart is a little sad she won't have younger siblings to hold. I can already tell she'll be a great mother someday!
