First time.

The last few weeks have been filled with a lot of "first times" so what a perfect time to blog, right?!

Eli loves oatmeal. And peas. And bananas. He's pretty much obsessed with anything on the spoon. I didn't even get to try the whole "here comes the airplane" hand-waving-motions to encourage a baby to open his mouth.
I couldn't feed him fast enough!!

I won my first blog entry contest. Thanks, Makana!

Eli had his first non-family-member babysitter last week while Aaron and I went to the temple.
Of course I was nervous. Well, not really nervous. I just missed Eli the whole time we were apart!
Luckily the sweet lady in my ward who has been begging to watch Eli sent me text updates throughout the night. He had fun!

I just went to the dentist today. I started hating the dentist about 7 years ago after having 3 root canals. Well, today, Dr. Michaels' office gave me a flower after I left! So nice, right? I don't even care that I have to go back in a few weeks to get a cavity taken care of.

I introduced Eli to bubbles today and he loved them.
Actually, he was a little confused to see them magically disappear!

Enjoy your Halloween parties this weekend! Can't wait to see your costumes!

New York and Best Friends

From college to missions to Chicago to marriage and now motherhood, Angelica and I started calling our friendship BFE years ago - Best Friends for Eternity.

With Angelica and Matt living in Cali and Aaron and me living in Maryland, we didn't know when our babies would meet in person instead of via FaceTime. Angelica was spending a week with her in-laws in Connecticut, so Eli and I decided to hop on the bus and head to New York City to meet up with Angelica and her baby! And we're so glad we did!

Eli did surprisingly well on the bus trip. I'll admit I was a little nervous, but he loved it. Probably because when I was done nursing him, I let him look out the window at all the pretty fall trees.

With two nursing babies, we managed to get a lot done on Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed lunch at a cute little diner and then took a walking tour of the city.

First stop: Carnegie Hall.

Next we visited the biggest toy store I've ever been to - FOA Schwartz. (Eli and Skye now have matching blue and pink rubber duckies.)

We even made a quick stop by the Apple store.

On Sunday we of course made time for a photo shot.
These two.
Love.

After church, we went back to the city to hop on the bus home.

Oh how we miss them.

Thanks for a fun weekend, Angelica! We love you guys!

5 months

Everyone tells me he's so happy.
Truth is, he makes us so happy.
