Eli's Birthday!

I found this post in my draft's and I'll be sad to not have these in my blog book when I print it.

Eli's 4th birthday was celebrated in Utah! We love the happiness Eli brings to our family. 4 is a great age. He's learning lots and is working on sight words. He says he's excited and ready for Kindergarten, but I don't know if I am ready for him to go! He got a bike for his birthday and pie face. He requested a Star Wars cake and he was happy!

Camping

Aaron's original plan was to take the boys camping one last time this summer. As they were getting ready to go, I decided last minute to join them! Camping is Aaron's happy place and the boys love being outside, sleeping in a tent and eating smores. I insisted on taking an air mattress and although Aaron was embarrassed to blow it up in the bathroom plug close to our campsite, he did anyway and I was so grateful. I want to camp with an air mattress every time.

We camped on the academy and then we were able to attend fan day and watch the football team practice. Go Air Force!

Rainy week

The boys' favorite part of FHE is the treat. This particular Monday night we had birthday cake pudding with sprinkles on top!

The weather was rainy and a bit cold a few weeks ago so we played inside a lot. I made bread and chili in the crock-pot. Although I love fall, I wasn't quite ready for colder weather so I was happy the following week when it warmed up and we were back to playing outside and eating popsicles.

Aaron surprised me with flowers he picked up from Walmart as he did a grocery run for our upcoming camping trip. I love flowers. And surprises. And Aaron.

The boys long hair was so out of control that I finally grabbed with clippers and nearly shaved it off. I like Austin better with long hair and I don't do the best job cutting their hair, but I didn't couldn't take their long hair any more so it was time.

And these two are so obsessed with Legos. I find them all throughout the house and even though I feel like screaming at times when I find Legos everywhere, I'm happy they can sit and play for hours and hours and use their imaginations.

Early part of August

The app for blogging on my phone hasn't been working so I'm trying to catch up from August! A few weeks ago, my dad came for an overnight visit as he was traveling through Colorado. We love our papa!

I helped my friend with her fashion show! Then we showed Aaron the new splash park in town.

Saturdays with dad are our favorite.

August

A new month! Here are pictures from our week. On Monday, we cleaned all morning and then painted in the afternoon. The boys prepared their water guns to spray at Aaron when we got home from work.

Here is what our evening scripture study looks like most of the time.

The boys had dentist appointments this week and they both did really well - Austin was so brave! Neither of them had cavities, which I was grateful to hear. After the dentist, we stopped by the library for a book break.

On Friday we went to the park and then made a paper robot.

We hung out with the Davis clan twice this week and I didn't get any pictures! We went to a water park with them in Denver on Tuesday and they came down and hung out with us on Thursday. Lincoln and Dallas start school tomorrow so I feel like our summer break has ended too!

Church was great today - it was a little crazy in nursery with 9 visitors, but testimony meeting was great. I love testimony meeting in our ward. Brother Baker returned home from his mission this week and his dad bore his testimony – they have 5 sons and the dad is a convert. As he bore his testimony, he said that as he looks at his family, he realizes the gospel has blessed their life so much. They have another son getting ready to leave on a mission and I love seeing missionaries prepare and return home.

Oh and Aaron and I made it to the temple this week. We love temple dates together.
