My two book ends - the kids are so helpful to get on the floor and play with Adelaide. She loves it.
I miss these carefree summer days of the kids reading, creating and playing together all day.
This was the sweetest gift - my neighbor Erin's mother who lives in South Dakota made this quilt and when she finished it, she said she prayed about who she should give it to and my name came to her mind. She was in town visiting her daughter and gave me this quilt and thanked me for being a good friend and neighbor to her daughter. I was so touched. I'm grateful for tender mercies from heaven that let me know Heavenly Father is aware of me. I guess I need those reminders often because this particular week, I was feeling a bit lonely and this quilt brightened my day. I pray that I can be in tune to know when someone around me needs a little reminder that they are loved.
The kids and I ventured downtown to check out a free children's exhibit.
Aaron met us for lunch at Fritz's on his lunch break. Our food was delivered by train and the kids thought it was the coolest place to eat. Having a lunch date with Aaron has become a summer tradition and we all look forward to it!
Ms. Adelaide is 9 months old! How?! She's the sweetest baby that everyone loves. She's flexible with her schedule and I appreciate that so much. She's starting to babble and rolls all over the floor. She loves when we play peek a boo with her and the kids giggle when she blows raspberries.
It's a treat to live close to family and we were able to celebrate Grandpa Volk's birthday with him. We roasted hot dogs and Aaron made mangos and sticky rice. Birthdays and Grandparents are the best.
