Halloween 2022 Part I

The leaves looked so pretty behind the girls as we sat down for our daily lunch date. 

I had some things to return to Target and Eleanor took in her backpack. She looked so grown up shopping with me. She's already planning her 5th birthday party in January. 

The weather was warm and the girls played the morning away in the leaves. 

Our ward fall festival was Wednesday evening. Aaron was going to be Batman, but then he was called away on a quick business trip. That didn't stop us from having a blast and getting lots of candy. 

I decided to take the girls on a field trip to a new pumpkin patch. There were school field trips happening so we got to tag along and Eleanor felt like a first grader for the morning. 

They're growing so tall! 

We invited the neighbors over for a halloween dance party. The kids opted to play outside with leaf forts instead. 

I listened to this book this week and enjoyed it so much that I've been telling everyone about it. I didn't expect the author to talk so much about the Savior and how he said, "Follow Me," not "Follow me and RUN." I was inspired to slow down, put my phone down, and focus on being more present as well as letting things go that aren't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I should probably read this book every week. Ha. 

Now that Austin has finished up soccer, our Saturdays are free (at least for a few months until Eli starts basketball.) We explored a new state park and I want to go back every year from now on. We enjoyed seeing the last of the leaves and hiking around. 

Aaron recently told me about an Argentine restaurant he spotted during a work assignment. We stopped by for lunch on Saturday and immediately fell in love with the owners, a young couple from Argentina. The food was expensive and Aaron and I decided it's a better place for a date instead of taking the whole family, but I did love sharing the experience with my kids. I loved the little Argentine flag in my sandwich. I bought candy to share with my kids and I had tears come to my eyes as I was taken back to Argentina for a few minutes. Argnetina will forever have a piece of my heart and I loved sharing with my kids and Aaron some of the food I grew to love so much. 

Carving pumpkins is a tradition I just haven't gotten in to for our family. Our kids ask if we can carve them and it's just such a mess and a job they're not able to do alone just yet. When a neighbor brought over 4 pumpkins on Sunday afternoon after church, the kids jumped for joy. Thankfully Aaron suggested we paint them and we had enough paint for the kids to have a wonderful time.
