We love 2014 already!

We spent New Year's Day touring the National Archives in DC with our friend Matt. I haven't been to that museum before so I was excited to see so much American history including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and Magna Carta. I especially loved the exhibit about genealogy and as we left, I was even more excited for my goal this month to work on my own family history.

It's been cold this week (not as cold as Chicago!) and we did get a little snow. School was cancelled last Firday. But, guess what wasn't cancelled?

My Spa Day.
That's what Aaron gave me for Christmas - a day at the spa. (I was seriously there for 5 hours and I started really missing Aaron and Eli. They truly enjoyed some quality father/son time in the great outdoors. Aaron has planned one father/son outing each month for 2014!)

My freshly painted nails:
The brand is Morgan Taylor - I guess it's a new polish line? I'm obsessed with their colors. Per usual, I couldn't decide which color to choose. The nail tech reminded me I can always go back soon!!

Eli playing in his first snow during his father/son adventure with dad!

During this New Year, we finally stopped by a new international grocery store that's opened up in our neighborhood. I quickly found tapas to make empanadas and Aaron found some ingredients for some Thai dishes! Here's the recipe I used for the empanadas - not Argentine really at all, but they were scrumptious. Aaron asked me to make them once a week.

But seriously, we love 2014 already!
And, I forgot to tell you how much I LOVE dressing Eli for church on Sundays. In fact, I probably spend more time getting him ready than myself. Just look at these cute outfits!

Hope your year is off to a great start too!
