Weekend Review

I wasn't quite sure how to title this post... Date night, ER visit, General Conference, so much can happen in just a short weekend! 

Last Friday night, the Volks kept Eli as Aaron and I had a little date night to Aaron's old high school to see, "The Sound of Music." It was such a fun date!! 

I loved learning about high school Aaron and asking him a bunch of questions. {During the intermission, we shared a lemonade and a hot dog in the cafeteria so I obviously asked him where he sat for lunch. Imagine my surprise when he pointed to the corner table and said he spent most of his time reading a book during lunch. Really??!! I thought lunch period was all about socializing! No wonder he's a genius!}

We found his class photo hanging up in the hallway! 

The play! We've been singing do-re-mi all week. 

Our date night ended with a trip to Coldstone...my fave. 

I wish this was a delayed April Fool's Day joke, but Saturday morning found us in the ER with the Dr confirming Aaron does have a stubborn little kidney stone. {Still waiting for the little guy to come out!}

I think Eli wants to be a DR. He couldn't stop smiling when we were allowed to go back and see Aaron. 

We did make it home in time to watch the second session of conference and we loved all the talks on both Saturday and Sunday. How uplifting conference makes us all feel!!
