Reunion

I didn't take too many pics last week because we spent one morning at the Social Security office (not fun and then after waiting for almost 2 hours, I was told I didn't have the right info that I needed), Austin had his 6 month appointment, and I babysat for a friend.

We did have a relaxing Labor Day at home and then a BBQ with friends, where I didn't take any pics.

Last Sunday I subbed for primary and the presidency gave me hugs and kisses. So nice!

Then there is a pic of our dinner on Thursday night. Aaron made taco salad while I mowed the lawn. Hahaha.. Aaron loves cooking and I love mowing the lawn so it's a win/win.

Friday night we had a Chicago reunion with these friends! Tiff and Eric live in Denver now and Becky was in Colorado for work. I love a great night of reminiscing and crying from laughing so hard.

Saturday morning we ran to story time at Barns and Noble. Eli loves trains these days and Austin has a special smile he gives to Aaron that I love. There was a home football game at the Academy so Aaron worked from 1 p.m. - 3 a.m. He was exhausted.

Look at Austin sitting in this high chair acting all grown up. And, these jammies were some of my favorite on Eli so I love the memories that flow back to me as I see Austin in them.
These little boys have my heart!

We snapped this quick pic before heading to church on Sunday.

Little baby boys! We sent this pic to their grandparents for Grandparents Day!
(And they're wearing matching shirts!!!!)

And Austin was introduced to rice cakes last week!

And that's about all! Hope you're excited for fall like we are!

Potty training

We spent most of last week at home so Eli could be potty trained and now he's a pro! I almost gave up the first day, but each day got easier and easier. And now we only have one baby in diapers around our house and it feels weird!

On Monday night, we had FHE at Chili's with our friends. He is a manager there so they treated us to dinner! We purchased shirts to donate money to St. Jude's in honor of September being childhood cancer awareness. Aaron created the design for our shirts and I loved how they turned out.

Like I said, we spent Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at home and it paid off because Eli picked up potty training so quickly (M&Ms worked like magic with that kids). Thursday night my parents drove here for the weekend and they watched the boys while Aaron and I attended the temple. We love that place!

Friday, we went to visit Santa at the North Pole. My parents grew up in southern CO and grew up hearing about their friends going to the North Pole. My parents never had the opportunity to visit the park, so it was extra fun for us to go with them and experience the place all together!

(The North Pole had a sink Eli's size so he happily used the bathroom as often as possible.)

We went down this slide 3+ times. Thanks for snapping this memorable pic, mom!

Austin loved hanging out in the mother's lounge.
Any place that has a nursing lounge we love even more!

We can't wait for CHRISTMAS!!!

Friday night, the Davis fam drove down to eat with us and then we ended the night with bowling at the one and only Bass Pro.

Bowling was followed by a cousin sleepover and then riding the gator for hours.

On Saturday, Aaron worked the WHOLE day because there was a football game at the Academy. We decided to make a craft at Home Depot and then my parents headed to Denver for the day while everyone in our house took a nap.

Sunday was church day and then we headed to Denver to celebrate my dad's birthday all together. We love you, Papa Joe and we loved being with you and Grandma Donna all weekend!

Our week

Aaron took the day off from work last Wednesday to work on a final paper that was due for school. (He's half way through his master's degree and we're already celebrating!) In an effort to give him time to get as much work done as possible, the boys and I headed to the outlets in Castle Rock for the day. Eli got a thrill out of standing on the stool to wash his hands. Kids definitely help me remember to get excited about the little things in life, like automatic faucets. :)

Thursday we had a little friend over while his mom was at the doctor. The little friend is 6 months younger than Eli, and when I told Eli lunch was ready, he ran over to me and asked, "Does that little boy want some lunch?" Little boy?! Hahaha. I laughed so hard.

Sweet dreams little one. I love peeking in on my babies during nap time and I wonder what they're dreaming about.

Austin and Eli get so excited to see each other after their naps.

Friday we spent the day at the zoo with friends. It was a perfect zoo day - not as crowded as usual because school has started around here and there was a little breeze in the air. We also met the newest lion cubs and I want one as a pet!

Austin isn't crawling yet, but he's rolling around like crazy all over the house!

Friday night we fed the sister missionaries and Eli asked if he could sit on the barstool as Aaron and I prepared dinner. I love our little chats.

Saturday morning I went to a Relief Society service project and then Aaron made Giordano's pizza for dinner. Hands down Aaron is a better cook than me AND did you know he loves Pinterest more than me too?! That's where he found this recipe which included homemade sauce. We had a great date at our neighbor's house for a piano concert. We laughed, cried and felt spiritually uplifted.

In striving to "Keep the Sabbath Day holy," we're constantly talking about activities that are appropriate for Sunday. Last Sunday, Eli asked if he could practice the piano. "I have a song to play for you, Mom," he said. He makes my heart melt.
