4th of July!

Aaron had Monday and Tuesday off for the 4th of July and being at home together was just what we all needed. We were sad to not be in Utah with all my family, but we've been running so much this summer that spending time at home was refreshing for all of us.

On Monday we went to the gym. I was on the treadmill in the air conditioning while Aaron ran outside. The boys made cute 4th of July streamers at the child watch.

Tuesday we went to the Monument Parade!

It was hot, but we were prepared with lots of ice pops. We all cheered for the missionaries!

After naps, we prepared food for our 4th of July picnic with friends.

God Bless America! A year ago today, Aaron deployed. I looked through pictures of last year as he was leaving and I started crying thinking about the emotional rollercoaster it was. We're so grateful he returned home safely and we were safe at home. Happy Birthday, America. We love you!

The rest of the week consisted of being outside with water and checking out a new park.

Our weekend was quite at home, but again, so necessary. We went to story time at Barnes and Noble.

Aaron gave a great talk at church today about missionary work - he's caught the vision. Brother Chambers, our home teacher, came tonight and the boys love when he visits. He paid us the biggest compliment when he said, "I can tell your boys really love each other." I don't know what lead him to say that, but sibling relationships are so important to us - we want these little boys to love and protect and support each other throughout their life time!
