What our week looked like

Monday: We had little friends over for a playdate.

Tuesday: We went to Focus on the Family. It was rainy and cloudy and we wanted to get out and do something active. We love this free center.

After leaving Focus on the Family, we realized it had warmed up a bit and wasn't raining so we hit up the new park.

Wednesday: We had the sister missionaries over for dinner!
Thursday: Aaron left for a quick, overnight work trip to California. The weather was so nice so we decided to run to the zoo.

The boys were dreaming of riding the carousel. Austin fell asleep in the car and usually I can put him in his bed to continue sleeping, but he woke up 10 minutes later. I was hungry so we went to Wendy's.

Our ward temple night was on Thursday evening. I had arranged a babysitter earlier in the week so Aaron and I could go together. When he was informed of this trip, I canceled the babysitter and planned to go to the temple another time with Aaron. Our kind bishop sent our ward an e-mail reminding us of the ward tempe night and inviting us all to be there if possible. So last minute, I called Alex, took the boys to her house, ran to the temple and barely made it for the 7:30 p.m. session. I was happy to be there and the temple was shining so brightly against the dark night - I felt gratitude for the examples of so many around me who are shining so brightly in a troubled world.

Friday we hung out in Denver before picking up Aaron from the airport. Austin keeps asking when our baby will be here. He'll be a great older brother. Eli too.

Friday night we rushed home from the airport and dropped the boys off at some friends' house while Aaron and I attended a fancy dinner where he received an award for the work he's done at the academy. He always claims he's "just doing his job," but we keep getting invited to fancy dinners where he's awarded for his hard work. I'm so proud of him!!

And Saturday morning, I woke up early and went to Time Out for Women. I've never been before and it was in Castle Rock, just 20 minutes away. Months ago Alex was going to go, but then decided not to - I decided to go by myself and on the way there, I had a little prayer in my heart that I'd see someone I knew. I figured I'd see people from my stake or even ward or maybe even the valley that I'd know. Turns out these great cousins of mine were all there!! It was a tender mercy for me to find them. We gave each other hugs and I loved being with them!

I love Time Out for Women so much. Like I mentioned above on the temple picture, it's a dark world out there, but there's so much goodness and I want to dwell on the goodness in this world and the people I know that are striving to serve those around them and make a difference.
