September is over!! It flew by! There were a few chilly days mixed in with days that still felt like the middle of summer. Here is what the final days of September looked like.
Austin asked if he could get in Eleanor's crib. Cuties! These two really do have a special bond. I hope they'll always love and take care of each other.
The weather was cold, but we put on our jackets and got some sunshine and exercise before school time.
Still trying out new recipes and this one was my all time favorite!! It was the healthy version of Cafe Rio. ;) I'm making it again for dinner tonight for the sister missionaries.
I was asked to plan YW in Excellence. I had two YW help me and we started planning months ago. It came together so nicely. I knew Wednesday afternoon was going to be busy getting the final details of the event together so we picked up pizza on the way home from school. And the best part is we got it for FREE because the order was wrong. We love free things! haha.
The theme was "Let Your Light Shine." All the YW shared how they shine so brightly in their day to day lives and in the projects they have completed for personal progress. The evening was simple and spiritual - I prayed for that for months and it came together nicely. Everyone pitched in with the decorations and treats and program. I loved watching it all come together, even though there were stressful moments leading up to it. The best part is the YW did the entire program. I knew it could be a flop if everyone didn't show up to do their part, but I was so grateful my prayer was answered that everything came together nicely!
And tiny is getting better and better and sitting up!! This little bunny outfit was darling on her. And the boys made 10 bouncy balls. I found a kit at Goodwill for $2 that hadn't been opened and the boys were in heaven. They LOVE science experiments.
Austin wrapped up his time in preschool. We love preschool at Monkey Business - it's only for 2 times a week for 3 weeks. Austin loved getting ready for "school" each day, like Eli, and he had fun. His teachers are so nice and they put together a book. Austin was proud to share with us of all his work from school.
Not bad for a three year old!!
Friday morning I planned a baby shower for a friend from our ward. The boys always enjoy when they get to go to parties with me.
And Eleanor was sooo proud to stand up behind this walker. All my babies have used it and I can't believe how quickly they grow! She's going to be running in no time. She's happier when she's moving.
I'm listening to this book "Saints" that's about the history of the church. I've enjoyed listening to it so much. My goal is to finish it all by General Conference, which is this weekend! I don't know if I'm going to finish it completely, but I'm close. We're so excited for conference this weekend. As soon as I start to feel the weight of the world on my shoulders, it's time for General Conference and I have a confirmation from the spirit time and time again that this is a great time to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
On Sunday a recently returned missionary spoke in church. I taught his Sunday school class 2 and 1/2 years ago and now he's home!! I loved that calling so much. Anyway, he talked about an experience that a visiting member of the area seventy shared with his mission. This area seventy went to visit Nasa and while he was there, he stopped and talked with a janitor. The area seventy asked the janitor what he does at the office and he said, "Sir, we send people to the moon." The returned missionary talked about how we're all here in this life with different roles and we're all striving to help each other return to the celestial kingdom. I loved this little story and the reminder to do our best in whatever job we're assigned to do and to remember the bigger picture!
