Love this month!

I love September so much and there's a only a few days left this month! It flew by, partly because Austin had a little preschool for three weeks so I was running around a lot. He loved going to Monkey Business and had a great time. It was fun watching him get so excited to go to school!

Eleanor is moving all over the place and I laughed when I noticed all these potatoes that fell out of the bag she pulled out of the pantry. I cooked them up for her and she loves potatoes!

We don't always have whipped cream in the freezer, but when we do, the boys love playing Pie Face. The giggles that this game brings into our home are worth the mess. ;)

While Eli was at school, Eleanor and Austin and I stopped by the library. Eleanor looked to big sitting up and playing with the toys. And one morning I was feeling nice and we made donuts together. Each week Eli takes something for show and tell (his teacher calls it "what's in the bag") and the students bring something for the letter of the week. The other kids try and guess what it is. This day he took a DONUT!

My neighbor brought over apples from her tree and I made some delicious applesauce. I love feeling like a true homemaker! I haven't had to wake up Eleanor too much for school pick up, but when I do, I always feel bad distracting her sleep. She's a trooper!

Eli asked if he could play my guitar. The cutest moment was him sitting on the couch and singing a nursery rhyme - Hey Diddle, Diddle. Grandma Donna would be so proud! I worry sometimes my guitar will get destroyed, but I also want to instill a love of music in my home so I let the kids play the guitar and piano. Hope it pays off one day!

Eli doesn't have school on Fridays (it's seriously my favorite part of this school!) so we found these paint sheets at the dollar store!

Friday night Eli's class had "Date with Dad!" I'll get some pictures from Aaron's phone - here are the pumpkin cupcakes I made. They were delicious! Aaron said most of the kids just ate the candy on top and then tossed the cupcakes. Oh well.

While Aaron and Eli were together, I had a date with Austin and Eleanor to Wendy's. I love these kids!!!

Saturday morning we cleaned the church.

Our family tradition is to grab donuts after cleaning the church!

Sunday was Eli's primary program!! Austin can't wait to participate next year. We were excited to have our neighbor and her three kids join us. I got teary eyed so many times as the kids sang with so much confidence "I Am a Child of God" and "If the Savior Stood beside me" and "We'll Bring the World His Truth." I struggle as a mother sometimes with my temper and insisting the kids do things exactly my way - the words to "I Am A Child of God" touched me as I was reminded... "Lead me, Guide me, Walk BESIDE me".. Often I feel like I'm walking in front of my children, pulling them along and I realize that I need to do a better job focusing on walking beside them and teaching them the gospel.

Eli's line from the program - "I can do something without being asked." I'm not exactly sure what the question was that they asked him, but it was along the lines of how we can show love to Heavenly Father.

This little blog really has become my journal and I pray my children will look back on these times and smile at our memories together.
