I found this picture posted on Eli's school page. This was from his Christmas party. Merrick is his best friend!
Monday: MORE SNOW! It snowed all morning and the boys were excited to go out and play with fresh powder.
After school, we went to Chick-fil-a for playing and dinner.
Then we had our FHE lesson cuddled together.
Eleanor gives the best hugs. She always puts her head on my shoulder and I love it. This was a little picture before nap time.
Thursday: another friend delivered this giant cookie to us for an afternoon snack. Eli returned home from school and was so excited!
He came home with his first report card. He's learning and growing so much each day!
Thursday evening we had dinner with Curt Coombs. He is my mom's first cousin. His mother is my Papa Thomas' sister. We cried for hours as we talked about our family. It really was a special time. I'm grateful to come from a line of dedicated, covenant keeping ancestors. I met Curt's wife on one of our first Sunday's in the Gleneagle ward and we made the connection to Manassa. It really was a treat to finally spend the evening together discussing our heritage.
Friday: We spent the morning cleaning and then swimming in the afternoon. The boys have really improved on their swimming lately!
After naps and rest time, we decided to play outside in the sunshine.
Saturday: We went to our friend's baptism. This past week in the Come Follow Me curriculum, we studied about Christ's baptism so it was perfect timing to be able to attend a baptism. We then hustled to Eli's basketball game. He loves it. It's so fun to cheer him on!
Eleanor's after nap pose. haha.
Saturday evening we were invited to dinner for a friends' birthday. Eleanor insisted on holding her plate.
Sunday: Today really was a great day. Eli gave his talk in primary and was confident and great. He practically wrote the talk and I printed it out for him. His talk was about baptism and he said, "I felt the Holy Ghost at my cousin's baptism." It was so tender.
And Eli was star of the week in his primary class. That means he answered the questions and was reverent. He was kind and shared his treat with Austin.
Grandma Volk sent this dress to Eleanor and she looked so cute today!
I shared my testimony today about Heavenly Father being in the details of our lives. I recently listened to a book by Elder Rasband, "By Divine Design." I told my ward family how I've seen Heavenly Father lead me to where I need to be, when I've needed to be there. More importantly, Heavenly Father has placed people in my life when I've needed them. This ward has truly blessed my life. I've received so much love and support as Aaron has been gone so much. I testified how my testimony of acting on promptings from the Spirit has been strengthened in this ward.
