Lovely December

Holiday season is in full swing over here. This past week was exhausting, but I'm grateful the kids still got to bed at 7 p.m. Aaron was called as the Elder's Quorum president and between his new calling and my calling in the YW's, we had something every night.

Monday: we took Eli to basketball practice. I loved that our Thanksgiving break was relaxing. Eli was excited to go back to school and then play basketball.

A friend delivered this giant coloring sheet and we've been coloring it all week.

Wednesday: we went to play group and my friend shared she's having identical twin GIRLS! She was asking me a million questions about it and I was talking a hundred miles an hour about it. I then texted her these pictures and I cried missing Angela, especially during our birthday month. ;)

Thursday: It was my turn to babysit for our monthly temple babysitting swap. We returned home to three boxes of Christmas gifts. I'm not usually a big online shopper, but I found several deals on Target so I stocked up on birthday and Christmas gifts.

More coloring after school with Eli this time!

Friday: At 7:30 a.m., we put on a breakfast for Aaron's co-workers. It was nice meeting them and welcoming then into our home. Also, I was so grateful this dress arrived on time for Aaron's work Christmas party that evening. And it fit! I then ran to the church to help set up for the ward Christmas party, that we didn't attend because we went to Aaron's work party.

I love dressing up and going on dates with Aaron. We need to do it more often because it's good for our souls! And I couldn't pass up taking a picture of Aaron by these cute dogs. Can you spot the cat?

Saturday morning: Aaron ran to the airport to fly to Texas for his friend Noah's wedding this week. The kids and I cleaned up and then went to a birthday party at a trampoline place. Eleanor jumped her heart out. They all three did and then took naps all afternoon!

Elfanor - Aaron gave her this nickname.

And pictures before church!

We are doing a 25 days of Christ advent calendar that Angela sent us a few years ago. It's my favorite tradition! This time of year is busy, but by taking time each day to read from the Book of Mormon, to pray together as a family and to focus on the reason for the season, it  helps us all stay focused on what this time of year is all about. Merry Christmas!!
