Colorado trip!

We had had a lunch date with Aaron in downtown KC! We haven't been to a restaurant for a while so it was extra fun. We enjoyed yummy Thai food together and discussed our dream of visiting Thailand together sometime soon, hopefully.

The YW activity was decorating cupcakes together over zoom. The kids had a blast participating as well.

Early Friday morning, we jumped in the car and headed to Denver. We cried telling Aaron goodbye. We wanted him to come with us, but if he leaves this area, he has to quarantine for 7 days and work has been busy for him since he hasn't been able to be in the office too much anyway. It broke our hearts leaving him.

We were grateful to arrive to Colorado safely!! I honestly wondered if I was strong enough to go back to Colorado because I missed so much family and dear friends. This trip was good for me though because I realized how much Kansas City is where we are supposed to be at this chapter in our live. We love Kansas City and we love that we live close enough to Colorado to drive there and visit.

Here are some of the fun things we did with the Davis Fam:

After several days of being with them, we drove down to Southern Colorado. We stopped by the Benson's home to say hello. I wanted to see so many friends, but the pandemic is still going strong so we didn't think it was the best idea to see everyone we love in the Springs. We want to plan another trip again to see everyone!

We instantly felt at home with the Benson crew. We had the best times together and it felt like old times eating popsicles and chatting together.

Next we ventured down to Sanford and spent time with the Hostetters. The kids were thrilled to be with more cousins and explore new places together.

We stopped by and gave hugs to our dear Aunt Marilyn that we love to see whenever possible!

Grandma Donna was there too!

Finally it was time to start the Pavlovsky family reunion! We all got together to celebrate my Grandma Pav's 80th birthday that will be in November. We debated canceling the reunion all together because of the pandemic, but my grandma was excited to see whoever could make it. We had the best time being together with extended family. There was a scavenger hunt at the cemetery where we visited my Grandpa Pav's grave. There was a family 5K, talent show, story telling time and lots of hugging and catching up with one another.

My dad's last remaining uncle, Uncle Pete and his wife Angie, attended the reunion as well. I teared up as Uncle Pete talked about his brother, my grandpa Pavlovsky that I never got to meet.

Oh how we love our Grandma Pav. I would describe her as an Angel and I know everyone that knows her would agree.

Family Visitors!

Austin's glasses have been tapped together with duct tape for the past few months and we were finally able to get them fixed. The two of us had a date to the eye dr. and masks were required. We're grateful his glasses got fixed without any issues!

The rest of the week was spent cleaning out our car, unpacking, doing laundry and cleaning our house in preparation for our family visitors. Spencer and Mary Beth and their family arrived on Wednesday afternoon!

We swam, painted fingernails, played at the park, hiked, worked out at Grandma and Grandpa's property, enjoyed conversations together and had s'mores and a dance party around a fire.

We loved making memories with a house full of family!

In other news: we're babysitting a Leopard Gecko for a few weeks. Good thing Aaron was a pet care specialist at Pet Smart when he was in high school. It's nice having a simple, quiet pet haha.

Another car nap for Eleanor. There have been lots of car naps during the past few weeks. Eleanor looks so grown up these days.
