Aaron got home at 10 p.m. and we debated about waking up the boys -- Eli didn't take a nap that day so I knew he was exhausted. I put them to bed at 7 p.m. so they had been asleep long enough that Aaron and I decided to wake them up early the next morning. It was more exciting than Christmas morning!! We went in at 6 a.m. and after Eli woke up, he jumped into Aaron's arms and gave him the biggest hug. Little Eli started crying a little bit and when I asked him if he was okay, he said it was a happy sad! Eli sure was a strong little boy while Aaron was away. Austin was too.
Next we went into Austin's room and Austin was skeptical at first and then walked around for a solid week saying, "Dad. Hi Dad." They're the best of buddies.
We pulled out the signs we had made for Aaron that we were planning on taking to the airport!
Aaron did have to go back to work to in-process. The boys were anxious to play Legos with him and we went and looked at puppies.
We were so grateful and excited to have our hero home!!!
