It's hard to believe that Aaron was deployed this time last year. Last year, the boys and I went to the Ballon Festival in downtown Colorado Springs. The boys loved it so much that I talked Aaron into waking up early to go this year. When the alarm went off, we were both so tired and didn't know if we felt like waking the boys up just to see the balloons. But again, I talked Aaron into it so we all quickly got ready to go.
We got downtown in time, found a parking spot and walked over to the park. We loved seeing the balloons getting blown up and wondered when they'd take off. We were all disappointed, when we were informed that it was a bit too windy for the balloons to launch. :(
Disappointment is part of life so we talked about how it's okay to be sad, but then we have to move on and be grateful we were able to see the balloons last year.
We went to brunch in Monument and it made us all feel lots better. :)

The rest of our Labor Day was spent pulling weeds in the rocks around our grass, organizing the garage, doing laundry, taking long naps, and going to dinner at Aaron's new boss' house. It was a great day after all!
