Temple Time

Recently I've been putting puzzles together and I love it. Eli ended his winter break watching movies all morning and I did a puzzle.

On Friday, we drove up to Ft. Collins for Tylen's wedding at the temple. My dad was sealed to Grandma Pav a few hours before the wedding. It was a special, spirit-filled day. I loved being in the temple with my family. And I'm grateful for my Grandma Pav's faith and dedication to living the gospel. It truly has blessed my life and I'm eternally grateful for her love and example to us all.

I love when my children are able to be at the temple and see family members get married. My boys look up to Tylen so much! Eleanor jumped into Grandma Donna's arms.

It was a rainy and cold morning so we were glad to be able to get to a restaurant and enjoy food and conversation with extended family members after the wedding. The weather turned into a winter storm. We stayed the night with Alex and crew and then headed home Saturday morning.

The boys were excited to go sledding.

Eleanor loved sledding a few times too!

And here is how our Sunday morning turned out. We have church at 8:30 a.m so we do all we can to get everything organized and ready to go on Saturday evening. This Sunday morning, everyone was ready by 7:40 so I decided to go all out for breakfast. I made pancakes and scrambled eggs. Last week Eli told me he asked his teachers for a snack during their 20 minute classroom time. I told him I'd make a bigger breakfast so he wouldn't be that kid asking for food. ANYWAY! I was talking with Aaron on the phone Sunday morning and asked him how many mom points I got for making a fancy breakfast. I was determined to be early to church so we started loading up the car at 8:05 a.m. and then I realized something didn't look right. On the floor of the garage, I noticed a bunch of spilled PAINT. The cabinet in the garage gave way and paint spilled everywhere, including the car. Tears immediately came to my eyes and I was sure the car was ruined. I called Aaron, and like he always does, he stayed calm and reassured me that it would be okay. I grabbed a bucket of water and started scrubbing the car. Thankfully, the paint was washing off. At this point, I concluded I'd finish cleaning off the car after church and we loaded up everything and headed to church.

And we walked in at 8:29 a.m.

My friend gave a talk in sacrament meeting and said that she and her husband have this theory that Satan is trying to prevent her family to get to church. Each week something crazy happens. That particular Sunday, their car got stuck in the snow. I laughed during her talk and told her afterwards about my Sunday morning experience.

I took this picture to remind me that there will always be something that gets in the way of making worthy goals a priority, but I know it's always worth it to stay on the right path and push through the hard barriers that pop up, or follow down from a cabinet in the garage in this case. ;)
