Enjoying Colorado

We've been exhausted and busy and happy. The week turned out to be emotional as we didn't get the house we made an offer on, but another house worked out and we're having an inspection done tomorrow!

Monday: Austin has given up naps, but after a busy weekend with cousins, he took a long afternoon nap. Since he and Eleanor napped a long time, we decided to go swimming after picking Eli up from school!

Tuesday: We delivered birthday invites to Eli's friend for his 6th birthday party!!

We were in the area of the library so we went to story time with a state patrol!

And then the kids were invited to climb into the cop car!

Tuesday after school, we drove up to Denver to meet all the Hostetter girls for dinner and chatting. The boys played on this amazing swing set outside.

Wednesday: We met up with the Bensons for a much needed park date!! Eleanor was so proud of herself for going down the slide all be herself. She loves feeling so big!!

Wednesday after school we played outside with the neighbor kids. All these military children stopped and put their hand on their hearts when they heard the national anthem being played at the academy.

This made me laugh - the boys got sent to time out and Eleanor decided to join them.

She wants to be a vet! She loves animals the most out of all our kids.

FRIDAY was Eli's birthday party! He has the cutest friends at church.

They played laser guns and the floor is lava and boxing and wrestling and then it turned into a water gun party too. They were dirty and happy and wet!

Eleanor woke up just in time for a cupcake!

Eli's friends were so generous and gave him the best presents!

After the party, Teigan delivered flowers and a cute book and said, "To get you through the weekend..." My friends as so thoughtful! It made me cry!!

Saturday we drove down to Pueblo to the children's museum. We wanted to go one more time before we move.

And Eli is getting so great at building Legos all by himself!

Our bishopric was released today and it was a spiritual sacrament meeting. I'm grateful for bishops that give their time and energy to serving in their calling.

Easter week

Eli's cousins play the piano and they've inspired him to want to play too. He's picked up a few songs and loves practicing. Austin too!

Eleanor loves walking behind the stroller these days. I love seeing her little body walking in front of me!

Aaron sent me a thoughtful gift! The packaging smells so delicious.

Her favorite pastime is getting into the pantry and finding what new things she can discover.

Taco Tuesday: We decided to grab some tacos from Del Taco for taco Tuesday. We all ate dinner for $3. We ate outside and loved the fresh air and quick clean up. ;)

We colored Easter Eggs!!

Thursday night we went and watched Lincoln and Dallas play baseball. All these cousins are fun and wild together.

On Friday morning, Eleanor and I headed to the airport for a trip to Kansas City. The boys stayed with Alex and I worried about leaving when they were still asleep. I did tell them goodbye when they went to bed, but I still teared up sneaking out the door for the airport. They had a great weekend with the Davis family!! Eleanor and I grabbed a rental car and then started looking at homes with our relator. This is the view from the deck of a house I loved. Aaron arrived later that evening and then we continued the house search on Saturday. We did make an offer on this home, but ours wasn't accepted. I didn't expect this whole house hunting/preparing to move experience to be so emotional!!

Oh, Friday evening, Eleanor and I drove down to see Adam and Amelia. Eleanor was obsessed with this dog kennel and puppy!

She had fun playing with these cute kids!

More house hunting on Saturday. This little bench was a perfect resting spot for her.

And this pink tree was the only thing I liked about this homes we were touring.

Another house.

We drove by the temple and we can't believe how close we'll be living to one!!! It's the first time in both Aaron and my life that we'll be this close to a temple. We instantly felt peace and a gentle reminder that Heavenly Father will lead us to where is best for our family.

We ended our quick trip with KC BBQ. Eleanor was born for BBQ. She loved it.

We woke up at 4 am to head to the airport. Eleanor slept for a bit of the trip. I love holding my sleeping babies.

We arrived home early Easter morning to lots of hugs and kisses from Eli and Austin. We sure missed them and they missed us! We attended church with Alex's family and then enjoyed a nice dinner.

All this week, we studied the events of the Holy Week. How grateful we are to celebrate the miracle of Christ's resurrection and the peace that radiates in our lives knowing we will all be resurrected as well. Happy Easter!
