I gave Eleanor her first pedicure! Pink looks so adorable on her tiny toes, especially when she wears her clear jelly sandals. :)
Eli finished up kindergarten on May 20, a few days before the other kids since we were flying out to Aaron's graduation. I was able to attend field day with Eli on his last day. His class won the tug-of-war. Eli had a GREAT first year - he loved Mrs. Winter and his report card said he came into class excited to learn each day. He's so excited and ready for first grade!
We left Monday after school for Alex's house. We woke up early Tuesday morning to head to the airport and our car was covered in snow. SNOW! In May!
Our plane was delayed a bit, but it worked out because we had time to grab some breakfast. Eleanor ran around so much she fell asleep on the plane. I was so grateful she took a snooze.
We left all the snow in CO and arrived to sunny Maryland!
Eleanor seriously loves this picture of her cousin. It's so tender to watch her point and speak to her cousin Elise!
Aaron drove down Tuesday evening to spend time with us! We were excited to see him!
Wednesday we had lunch with LeeAnn at the church and then headed to Virginia to check into our hotel. Aaron met us and we went to a family BBQ together with his classmates.
Thursday was Aaron's graduation! We were so proud of him!! Even though we had tickets, we ended up not finding any seats, but it worked out better because we sat in the back and the kids did better than sitting for the entire graduation. Spencer also came and we enjoyed family time together.
Five months felt soooo long and I really wanted to focus on thriving while Aaron was gone - some days we did. Most days I was extremely exhausted. But we did it! And I'm grateful that as a family we could support Aaron in this accomplishment.
We flew back early Friday morning and arrived home to cousin time. The Bullocks and Pavlovskys came to Denver and we had an impromptu family reunion! It was a blast.
Aaron's Aunt and Uncle from North Dakota happened to be in Colorado and reached out to us. Aaron wasn't home yet because he drove back, but the kids and I enjoyed brunch with Rick and Sandra.
More cousin time at the park!
Everyone came to our house to help us clean. Even the little kids!!
Aaron arrived home on Saturday evening and we were sooo grateful he was home, even if our house was empty. We attended church together one more time in the Gleneagle Ward - we were showered by so much thoughtfulness and kindness from the members of that ward. We'll never forget them!
Aaron and I celebrated on 7th wedding anniversary. Even though we didn't have a vase and only a couple days left in our house, Aaron still spoiled me with a dozen roses. When I take a step back and see all that we've experienced together, I feel so much gratitude for how our family has learned and been stretched together - from pregnancy, and grad school, and moving, and a deployment, and a new career, and job trainings, and moving again, it's been quiet the adventure, and Aaron has been loving us and supporting us through it all.
Sunday evening we had a family BBQ at Alex's house and then had to say our goodbyes to my parents and Ang and Steele. :(
Cutest cousin bunch.
