On our first Sunday, we arrived early to church and took pictures by the TEMPLE! Our church building is right beside the Kansas City Temple. It's amazing being so close to the temple.
I found this picture on my phone and it made me laugh. I love everyone's facial expressions.
We all love being together to worship on Sundays.
Eleanor has been a trouper and has been sleeping in the pack and play like a champ. In the hotel, she would pop up and say "Hi!" after I put her down for a nap.
A family in the ward had us over to dinner on our first Sunday. So kind! They told us of some fun activities in the area, including this great splash pad. It was Eleanor's first time playing at the splash pad and she had a blast.
There is a Dairy Queen close so after the park, we walked over and bought a blizzard to share.
So much ice cream. One evening after Aaron returned from work, we walked to Wendy's to get a frosty.
We ventured downtown KC one day and checked out the Hallmark museum. We loved making so many crafts for free.
We walked around the Crown Center and enjoyed checking out a few shops - like the Crayola store.
By the end of the week, the hotel life was starting to get to me and then I had a one word prompting.."The Temple." After Eleanor's nap, we went to Aldi to grab popsicles and went on a temple walk!
Eleanor was so kind and shared with her brothers.
The flowers were beautiful!
We heard on the radio that it was national donut day. We went to Wal-mart and the bakery was handing out free donuts!!
For our first weekend here, we went to Joe's Kansas City BBQ. It's a place all the locals rave about and we were not disappointed - it was DELICIOUS!
Saturday morning the primary had a water party. It boys asked about it all week and were thrilled to be with new friends. It was a highlight of our first week here! Even Eleanor got to play with the nursery kids!
Here we are loading up to leave the hotel life. We really did have a lot of fun together!
