Primary Program and more Christmas

The boys finally had their Primary Program on December 12. With our ward boundaries changing in the stake, the program was later in the year than usual, but it was one of the best programs I've seen. Eli and Austin sang a duet together - the second verse of "Search, Ponder and Pray" - and my heart bursted with love for them. I hope they'll always remember the words they sang - "So, prayerfully I'll read the scriptures, each day my whole life through. I'll come to understand. I'll heed the Lord's command, and live as He would have my do."

Aaron texted his parents Sunday morning informing them about the primary program and they decided to come! It was last minute and turned out to be a great Sunday for everyone. LeeAnn made dinner and then we borrowed graham crackers from our neighbor so we could make gingerbread houses together. We always use our left over Halloween candy. Everyone voted on their favorite house and Eleanor and Grammy were the winners!

Alden came to our house for preschool and we studied the letter K and then decorated cookies. Adelaide can't wait for preschool. :)

On Wednesday, my parents arrived for the week! My dad had a Christmas dinner in downtown KC so they came to stay with us. I loved having my parents around to do Christmas activities with us. I hope my dad's company makes this an annual party in KC!! We went to the crown center and said hello to Santa and then introduced my parents to Topsy's popcorn.

Aaron met up with us after work and we checked out the giving machines! It was our first time trying them out in person instead of online. My parents bought 15 chickens and my kids decided on meals and a blanket to donate to those in need. This is my kind of vending machine!

My dad treated us all to Fritz's and it's always fun guessing if the train is going to deliver our food next or if it's headed to another table.

My parents looked so nice as they headed down to KC for dinner! Saturday morning, we volunteered outside of Wal-mart to ring the bell for the Salvation Army. It was freezing and everyone seemed extra generous as they saw Eleanor out there ringing the bell! Aaron and the boys helped a new family move in and then they took a turn ringing the bell so Eleanor and I could warm up a bit.

Before church pictures! It's alwaysncrazy getting everyone together for a picture, but I love capturing memories together whenever we can.

Look how cute all my kids are smiling in these pictures!

Sunday evening we had the Brady's over to play the bells with us and then Taylor played the piano. He's so amazing!

I wasn't expecting my parents to be here in December and it was a highlight of the month for me!
