Thursday was our DC tourist day. We went down to the mall and had lunch and walked our a bit. I get a rush of energy going downtown - I thought about my internship and working days. They were great times, but I'm so grateful that I'm home now and sharing so many every day memories with my little ones. Love you, DC!
After naps we explored in the backyard, jumped on the trampoline and ended the night with s'mores around the campfire.
I put the boys down for bed and then ran to visit Barbara Goodwin - she was the RS president when we lived there and I worked with her as the 1 counselor. We became the best of friends through service and I love her dearly. She just got a new baby grand piano and was excited to show it to me. Barbara is from England and I love how polite and proper she always is. Her husband passed away 6 years ago and I knew she didn't have children, but I had never talked to her about it. She said she was never able to get pregnant and she said it was a hard time for them, but she didn't let that lead her to a depressed life. She continues to travel, serve and love her life and I enjoyed spending the evening with her catching up about life since we moved to Colorado.
