Eleanor got a friendship necklace from her little friend who bought it with her own money. Something I love about Eleanor is that she loves friends!
We went to story time and Adelaide decided to go up and sit right beside Eleanor.
I gave Adelaide a little hair cut by trimming off her little mullet that was growing. Eleanor use to wear this little coat and we discovered it as we pulled out all the fall/winter clothes for the girls.
I ran to the temple early Saturday morning. It's closed for three months and we miss it so much. The windows are being replaced and the shadow created a reflection that reminded me of the Salt Lake Temple!
Eleanor also use to wear this dress! Grandma Donna gave it to Eleanor for her second birthday and here is Adelaide wearing it already. She'll be two next month and I say this about all my kids, but I can't believe how the years are flying by.
Saturday morning we drove up to Grammy and Grampy's house to watch General Conference and spend the weekend with them. We grabbed donuts on the drive up and I think we just started a new family tradition because we all love donuts and spending time out in the country and watching General Conference together. A ton of memories were made in two quick days.
Conference was packed with the best talks reminding us to stay close to Jesus Christ and the covenants that we've made with Heavenly Father. Sometimes I don't know if my kids will remember very much from each session, it's my hope that they'll at least know we make General Conference a priority.
Austin did have a soccer game scheduled from Saturday morning and a few days leading up to the game as we were finalizing plans for the weekend, I asked him if he'd like to go to the soccer game or go up to Grammy and Grandpa's house and spend the weekend watching General Conference. Austin didn't hesitate with his answer when he said, "I'll learn more about Jesus in General Conference than I will playing soccer." My heart beamed. I'm grateful for my own mother who took us to the church to watch all the sessions of conference, especially because it wasn't as convenient then as it is now to watch all the sessions at home.
We returned home Sunday night exhausted, spiritually uplifted and energized to move forward each day in living the gospel and doing our part to tell others the good news that Christ's church as been restored on the earth today.
