It's been a rough last couple of days over here. I really try and look for the positive things around me because I believe there are always blessings and tender mercies happening if we are paying attention. Wednesday I took the boys to the library - Austin ran away from me three times and Eli got upset about a toy in the play area he wanted, but another kid had it first. Eli was crying. Austin was running away. And I started crying saying I can't do this deployment anymore. I know I was overreacting, but some days are really tough as a single mom. We survived the rest of the day and thankfully, my brother and his family stopped by with ice cream after dinner that was just what we needed.
On Thursday I loved waking up to a fresh start to life. Austin shared my yogurt and granola after nap time. And then we went to see the movie Trolls. It was a happy movie all about being happy and finding ways to make others happy. The music was fun.
Rough days make us stronger! And I recommitted to looking for the positive things each day because I know they're there. Always.
