Thursday

The local elementary school in Fruita, where my mom happened to be subbing today, had a special Veteran's Day assembly. The teacher asked everyone in the audience to stand or raise their hand if they currently had family serving in the military. Eli jumped up, raised his hand, and happily exclaimed, "My dad!!" I teared up. One part of the program included students recognizing heroes - those currently serving in the military, those who have previously served in the military, the spouses of those who have carried the weight of life at home while a military spouse is away, and then I cried when they said, "And the biggest heroes - the children of those who have parents serving in the military. Those children haven't had their parent home every evening to tuck them into bed or celebrate the holidays." I cried!

Austin put his hands to his heart during the National Anthem.

Evan spent the day with us and the boys have loved being together, most of the time. ;)

During nap time, I ran and got a massage. I carry all my stress in my shoulders and they were so tight. It was so relaxing and my body feels better already.

And we ended our evening by reading the World Book.
