I've been working on our dinning room and I love how it's coming together. I hosted a birthday play date with my friends for my 40th birthday! I love bring people together. I don't love surprises so I didn't want Aaron to plan anything haha. My friends are nice to come and shower me with gifts and friendship, even after I insisted they don't bring anything.
For my birthday dinner, we grabbed Chipotle and then went to Union Station and the Crown Center.
"It's Christmas time in the city!"
The giving machines are a family favorite!
Little Adelaide cried because she thought she'd get to take a dog home after selecting "Pet Theory" from the giving machines. This is such a simple way to serve! I went to bed so overcome with gratitude for the last 40 years of my life. I cried thinking about what the new decade will bring.. my kids will be so much older when I turn 50 in 10 years. Oh how I want to make sure I cherish these days with them, even when it's hard and I feel like all I'm doing is breaking up fights some days.
Eleanor made a very cute headband at school. Adelaide came with me to my OBGYN appointment. I feel like I was just going to the dr for my pregnancy appointments and here she is already 3!
My kids have done great practicing the piano so I took them and my piano student Paul for a treat after school. They were thrilled because getting frozen yogurt is a treat we don't do often.
Every time we're in Wal-mart, Adelaide asks if she can hug a squish mallow. She'd love one for Christmas!
Eleanor wishes she had glasses so she wore this pair for several days.
Eli had his orchestra concert and we were pleasantly surprised how awesome they sounded, especially because they only have orchestra class once a week!!
The kids helped me make dipped pretzels, my favorite Christmas treat, while Aaron and Eli went and did some Christmas shopping.
A neighbor asked if anyone wanted to join them for caroling and we all agreed it would be a fantastic way to spread Christmas joy in the neighborhood! We loved it and want to make this a Christmas tradition each year!
