More summer time fun

I'm way behind on my blog, but I definitely want to catch up because there really is so much happiness I feel as I look back and see all these pictures from our summer together.

Swimming with friends.

A perk of having the kids home during the summer is they are great little house keepers.

Our friends hosted an epic birthday party.

Aaron and Duane laid new tile in our bathroom. It looks so great. It took a ton of time and I loved watching Duane patiently show Aaron how to do this job. I hope this tile will always be a reminder to me to be patient in teaching my children.

Eli - headed to 6th grade orientation.

JustServe Night at the Royals Game. Elder Stevenson threw out the first pitch. I was able to write a press release about the event and I was thrilled when the Church Newsroom posted the release on their website. My new calling is working with media on the coordinating council. It's definitely stretching me and I'm brushing up on my PR skills. I feel like most of the time I'm faking it. I'm in tears sometimes with all the meetings, but they are on zoom so it's nice that I can still be home to give my kids good night hugs.

Adelaide was extremely quiet one afternoon and when I went to look for her, I found her asleep in the hallway. Summer is exhausting for a toddler with three older siblings.

One last lunch with our neighbor friends - the Turner's moved to Topeka.

We miss them so much!!

Back to school dinner - we celebrated with Mexican food.

Eli gave his first talk in sacrament meeting. Angela watched on zoom and sent me this picture. Eli spoke clearly, confidently and with the spirit. The night before he cried with fear, but we reassured him that he had practiced and he could do it. And he did! He'll be in YM next year. He's looking forward to it. I love that the church handbook says that any baptized member can now participate in sacrament meeting with talks and prayers.

Temple walk sisters - our weekly Sunday temple walk before sacrament meeting is going strong. What a blessing it is that our church chapel is right by the KC Temple.

Aaron traveled for almost a month. It's always hard when he's gone, but we've found that instead of being miserable, we can keep busy. The kids and I enjoyed Sunday walks. I love this pictures of our kids. It's my favorite.

We visited WOF with friends one more time for the summer.

We organized the boys room.

We went to the Hallmark Museum and stopped by the Danial Tiger exhibit.
