Back to school night! Over the summer, our local elementary school got an update! The school has been painted and new decorations have been added, like this cute little lion in the hallway of the K-1 grades. The lion grows as you approach each pod with higher grades. So darling. Look at these cute little lions! The kids were excited to meet their teachers, see their new classroom, and reconnect with friends and staff at the school we love so much.
Eli was up early and ready for his first day! Was he nervous? Yes, but he was prepared. He knew his schedule, worked on his locker combination, had walked the halls and was prepared! His bus comes SO early - 6:29 a.m. which means he wakes up early which means we have to be disciplined and get to bed on time. After the first several weeks of school, Eli said to me, "Mom, I like Middle School. It's better than I anticipated. I thought everyone would be fighting all the time." He's met some awesome friends in our stake that he didn't know before. Our prayers have been answered as he's learning and growing in a new way.
After Eli was on the bus, Eleanor and Austin got ready for school. Good thing for them is they knew their school and felt ready to go! Eleanor has the teacher that Austin had in 1st grade. I love when these little connections happen.
Bye kids! Adelaide and I will miss you so much!
After we walked the kids to the bus stop, Adelaide and I went on a temple walk followed by lunch at Chick-fila. She misses her siblings when they're gone all day. She's so lonely! We pick up the kids from school again this year. I look forward to it and as I drive to pick them up, it helps me clear my mind and feel prepared to greet them!
